International Student Association

The International Student Association (ISA) is an organization for American and International students alike. It is a well-recognized and respected association within Eastern Kentucky University, currently representing 300 students from 50 different countries.

It aims to promote and protect the interests of international students within the university by supporting all incoming students in their adjustment to college abroad. It provides an opportunity to connect with the university life and the surrounding community as well as stimulating friendships and furthering language growth.

In addition, this association participates and sponsors a variety of cultural events all year round. The most publicized event is the Annual International Banquet, with a usual attendance of over 400 guests. In this event, many of the international students volunteer to perform a traditional dance or song, cook a traditional dish, or help out with background props.
